To Promote Village Data Digitalization, Bentara Papua Holds Village Information System Training in Sorong
17 April 2026 - by Admin
  • Pacebentara, April 17, 2026 – In an effort to strengthen data governance at the grassroots level, Bentara Papua, in collaboration with the Indonesian Conservation Community (KKI) Warsi, held a "Website-Based Village Information System (SIK)" training. This training took place at the Bentara Papua shelter on Jalan Malibela, Sorong City.
  • The training lasted three days, from April 16 to 18, 2026, and was facilitated by three experienced facilitators from KKI Warsi: Yul Qari, Askarinta Adi, and Andi Irawan. The training was enthusiastically attended by nine staff members and village volunteers from Udohotma Station (Arfak Mountains), Sira Station (South Sorong), and Solol Station (Raja Ampat).
  • In his presentation on the Potential of Micro Spaces, facilitator Yul Qari emphasized that data accuracy is key to the success of government programs.
  • "Quality data will result in quality, effective, and targeted development," said Yul Qari.
  •
  • Presentation of the material on Micro Space Potential by YulQari, a facilitator from KKI Warsi
  • at the Bentara Papua Shelter (Jl. Malibela, Sorong City).
  •
  • He also added that villages are the spearhead of the national development structure. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of human resources at the village level in managing information is crucial.
  • One of the urgencies of this activity is to find solutions to conventional administrative problems. Until now, village data has often been stored in piles of paper that are difficult to access and susceptible to physical damage.
  • Through a website-based information system, this data can now be managed online. This aims to:
  • Increased Accessibility: Data becomes easier to search and process for village planning purposes.
  • Administrative Efficiency: Reduces reliance on physical documents and minimizes the risk of data loss.
  • Continuous Updates: Facilitates volunteers in updating village potential information in real time.
  • With the implementation of this village information system, it is hoped that each village will have a robust digital database to support accelerated development in the Papua region, particularly in the Arfak Mountains, South Sorong, and Raja Ampat.
