About Us
BENTARA Papua is a social organization for local communities from various socio-economic, water management, forestry, and communication backgrounds. BENTARA Papua members have actively participated in several social activities and environmental issues including volunteering at several national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) since 2005. BENTARA Papua is based in Manokwari, West Papua. BENTARA Papua is legally registered in the Manokwari High Court as an association with registration number 17 on April 13, 2012 at the Notary Office of Nina Diana, SH in Manokwari and Amendment of Notary Deed No. 25 dated 29 September 2020 by Lience, asH., M.KN who registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights No. AHU-0009644.AH.01.07, Tahun 2020.

Mission
? Supporting local communities in their efforts to manage natural resources in a fair, sustainable, and traditional manner.
? Conducting research and publishing to support local community movements in fair, sustainable, and culturally appropriate natural resource management.
? Developing a culture of mutual learning to support the intergenerational leadership development process within the organization and the communities it serves, with a focus on youth, women, and village governments.
? Enhancing internal and external capacity, particularly among youth, women, and local governments.
? Expanding networks with volunteers, youth, women, and governments in realizing fair, sustainable, and traditional natural resource management.
