SOCIALIZATION OF INSTITUTIONAL RECOMMENDATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TO ACCELERATE POSITIVE CLIMATE IMPACT AT SUB-NATIONAL LEVEL
In this meeting, Mandala Katalika Association (MANKA) and Bentang Nusantara Association (BENTARA) Papua collaborated to implement the Socialization of Institutional Recommendation Development Program and Governance to Accelerate Climate Funding at the Papua Barat Daya Province level. On this occasion, Secretary Mrs. Ina Roselina Y Sikirit S.hut'M.M representing the Head of the Environment, Forestry and Land Service (DLHKP) opened the meeting. This meeting was attended by representatives from the Forest Fire Control Center (DALKARHUT) of the Maluku Papua Region, the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA), the Social Forestry Center for Region III Ambon, the Regional Development Planning, Research and Innovation Agency (BAPPERIDA) of Papua Barat Daya and the Muhammadiyah Education University (UNIMUDA) Sorong. The meeting was held at the West Papua BKSDA Building, Thursday, April 24, 2025.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of Bentara Papua, Yanuarius Anouw, familiarly called Yanu, said that in order to realize development and community empowerment in Papua, especially in the West Papua Province, we must build collaboration from various parties. "I always have the principle and see that, collaboration strategy is the key to answering development and community empowerment in Papua". From this collaboration, we complement each other with various resources available from each institution and Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD). This collaboration is also to accelerate the positive impact of climate in West Papua and answer the vision and mission of the West Papua governor regarding local economic growth, said the Director of Bentara Papua.

At the same time, the Director of MANKA Juliarta Bramansa Ottay delivered his remarks and explained that MANKA is an institution that supports good initiatives that have a major impact on climate and the environment. "So what we want to do together is how we can encourage optimizing the policies of the Ministry of Forestry," said the Director of MANKA. MANKA also partners with Bentara Papua, Muhammadiyah University of Education (UNIMUDA) Sorong, and Jerat Papua to support local economic growth and strengthening local customs and culture as part of the vision and mission of the Governor of West Papua Province.

In this meeting, MANKA and Bentara Papua also presented material on the introduction of institutions and work plans (programs) for the next two years with the main focus on encouraging a more inclusive Climate program and Conservation. In this case, Bentara Papua is a partner that encourages all stakeholders, OPDs and other development partners to develop climate change. UNIMUDA partners as academic support partners who will support the development of knowledge management development. Meanwhile, Jerat Papua is a partner incubating indigenous communities to develop arts and culture in West Papua Province.
The hope for the future is that partners in West Papua Province will be at the forefront of continuing and continuing Climate programs. The hope from this meeting is that MANKA will also choose several priority programs that will be supported and worked on together in the coming years with Bentara Papua to answer the development and empowerment of fair, sustainable and customary communities in Papua.
